Heat Detection Marker(HDM) is a specially designed device used in assisting farmers and ranchers in detecting estrous or standing heat in cows and heifers. HDM may enhance any breeding program by easily identifying those animals in estrous or animals that are seemingly anestrous.
HDM is applied with a standard cartridge gun(caulking). Please follow instructions on tube for exact areas of application.
Once applied, the HDM will rapidly dry leaving a hard blue crust. When another animal mounts the cow showing estrous, the area covered with HDM will be removed or the applied area will be rubbed causing the hair to stand up. By maintaining close observation, one may identify those animals showing heat activity during the day or night.
