This is the least stressful method I have found for giving my kitty his meds.

Filling it with water causes my kitty to swallow his pill when I press down on the plunger.

It took about a while for me to get my technique down. But now my cat doesn't run away from me after I give him his meds.

I had my cat's meds put into gelatin capsules by a compounding pharmacist. I had tried them as a tablet but they are extremely bitter & a capsule was easier to use. Also, I think a capsule is easier to insert into this pet piller.

I put the gelatin capsule into the piller just before I give the med. The gelatin capsule can get too wet & be broken up by the plunger tip if it is in the device for even a minute. If it is a bitter pill, that will make your pet resistant to taking med. This is not a problem caused by the device; gelatin capsule are just prone to softening quickly when dampened.

I put my kitty on my bed & then kneel & crouch over him so that he can only back into my legs when I open his mouth. That way he can't back away from me & get too far away for me to get the pill in.

It's helpful to watch videos to see the best way to open your cat's mouth safely. You don't want to get bitten by a cat because a puncture wound on your hands can get some troublesome bacteria into one of the (many) joints in your hand.

This is definitely the most solidly made & easy to use piller I have tried. Has made pill time much easier for my cat & me.
